Strategically located on the Golden Quadrilateral, the state of Uttar Pradesh is connected to major national and international airports in the country
- Largest railway network spanning 8,949 km.
- Western Dedicated Freight Corridor – WDFC : Being developed from Dadri in Ghaziabad to Jawaharlal Nehru Port of Mumbai
- Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor – EDFC : 57% area of the project in Uttar Pradesh
The junction of these freight corridors is in Dadri, Ghaziabad, and has made Dadri a promising hub for the logistics and warehousing sector.
The joint domestic Rail and Exim (import-export) terminal at Moradabad, the rail-connected private freight terminal at Kanpur and the non-commercial container depot-IDC; including ICD at Kanpur and ICD located at Dadri terminal form part of the existing logistics infrastructure facilities in Uttar Pradesh. Apart from this, three multi-nodal logistics / transport hubs are also proposed in the state in Noida, Bodaki and Varanasi. Further, special investment centres like Kanpur, Noida Varanasi and Ghaziabad and new investment areas like Dadri-Noida-Ghaziabad Special Area, Meerut-Muzaffarnagar Special Area, Deendayal Upadhyay Nagar (Mughalsarai) –Varanasi-Mirzapur are also being developed.
Uttar Pradesh is also home to a robust network of Expressways and Highways, already developed and under development. Expressways such as Purvanchal Expressway, Bundelkhand Expressway, Lucknow – Agra Expressway have catalyzed logistics network in the state. In addition, projects such as Prayagraj Link Expressway, Gorakhpur Link Expressway and Ganga Expressway will further augment the road network and connectivity of the state.
Uttar Pradesh Govt is also planning to further expand the exsiting Air, Water and Rail connectivity which will help Industries and manufacturers to boost their supply chain network.
